The Stranger

A stranger was knocking at the door. As I peeped through the curtains I felt chills run throughout my body. Not only was a scared to see this man standing at my door that I did not know but I was home alone. I had to rely completely on myself. The dark that surrounded this man was the kind of dark you dare not walk into. My heart pounded because he just stood there and would not move. He knocked again only this time he put a lot more force behind it. I peeped again hoping I would catch a glimpse of his face but the dark was too black and the fog was too thick. One thing I did notice though was a knife hanging on his side covered with blood. This was so crazy, this only happened in the movies. I didn’t know what to do but try and escape.

I quickly went upstairs to my room and began to search for my keys. I then stopped because I heard a window crash. The stranger must have broken in downstairs. Not only was he in my house but he had his bloody knife as well. Beads of sweat formed on my forehead. I still couldn’t find my keys. I could hear footsteps coming up the stairs and getting closer each second. I was going to be trapped soon if I didn’t think quicker. Finally I found my keys and I ran out in the hallway where the stranger was. He had just gotten to the top of the stairs. He was at the edge just waiting for me. My mind and body felt like they were frozen. He slowly started walking towards me. He knew how scared I was and he was going through this long process to taunt me. I quickly ran in the bathroom unsure of what to do next. I then spotted the shower curtain rod. I ripped the curtain off and yanked it down. I ran out of the bathroom and I gripped the rod so tight hoping it would help me escape.

There he was standing a good foot in front of me. I used all my force and pushed him in the gut knocking him straight to the ground. Running down the stairs I prayed that I wouldn’t fall. I ran out the door and messed with the keys trying to get the correct one. It unlocked, I jumped in and started my car. Then all of a sudden the stranger was standing right in front of my car holding his knife up. This time I could see his face because my bright headlights shined right in his face. He had a gray stringy beard. His eyes gleamed with craziness and his smile was not the “Hi, I’m happy to see you smile”. He was crazy. Was killing teenage girls his hobby or something? Well I wasn’t going to let it happen to me. He wasn’t going to give up but neither was I. I floored the pedal and his body flung over my car hood onto the cold ground. I hoped he was dead. I drove off, without looking back. I had no idea where I was heading but hopefully it was to safety.
